Mini Vacation to SLC

Bill works so hard, and we love him, but sometimes because he likes to work we do stuff without him!! Last summer in August while he was at convention we went to SLC to have a fun vacation without him, kinda! Convention was in SLC so he was with us in spirit! The beginning of the weekend started out with a roommate reunion. Its been probably 20 years since I've seen these fabulous girls. My first year at Utah State I lived at Old Farm apartments it truely was one of the funnest years of my life. I still love these great girls. We were missing 3 others and wished they could be there, but with busy lives its hard to be able to get all of us together hopefully we can try again soon!!! The kids stayed at my parents house for that day, we spent Friday night there then got up early Saturday and went to SLC for the night. I put the pictures in backwards so its backwards to scroll though. Sunday morning we got up and went to the broadcast of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, we toured the conference center and went though the Visitors Centers on the temple grounds, walked up to the Beehive house and toured that. None of my kids had ever been to temple square and none of us had ever been to the conference center, it was so fun!!! Fountain on top of the conference center that pours over the front of the building. MoTab Choir singing...it was such a neat experience to watch it. In the conference center they had these skylights that cause a rainbow on the seats, the girls thought it was so cool they wanted their pictures taken underneath them. Smiling girls under a statue of Brigham Young. Picture of my kids in the tabernacle. Ok since the pictures are backward here is Saturday. We went to the Gateway Mall, which again I had never been to. The kids had fun in the fountains, looked in everystore, the only sad part of the day, Abbie lost her wallet and it had $18 in it. :-( What a learning experience for her, a very hard one. After Shopping we went back to the Hotel for a bit while the kids went swimming. Then came back to the Gateway and had dinner then went to the Planetarium and saw a laser show. The kids thought that was awesome!!! I took a wrong turn on the way out of the parking garage and we ended up way out in never land, it took us a while to figure out where we were to make it back into downtown. So weird!!! Any way it was a fun little trip for me and the kids!!!

Idaho Falls Tennis Camp

I love living in Idaho Falls. Yes it has its down sides, like say the WEATHER!!!! But its a very family friendly place to live. The beginning of this summer (actually they have it every summer we've just never done it) they had a 3 day free tennis clinic for kids. Its a great opportunity to introduce my kids to something new to find out whether or not they're going to like it before you sink a fortune into something they hate! Do you think its possible for this girl to pay attention?!?! She's laying on the ground...again!It was so windy the days they had it, but at least we didn't get rained out!!! Here is Cierra showing off her mad tennis skills. Here is Abbie. She's a great little softball player, but I can't get her to hold a tennis racket or a golf club like anything other than a BAT!!! Uh...forehand doesn't need two hands...does it? Hey batter batter!! All sarcasm aside, she did get better! I just don't have the pictures to prove it!!!

Typical Monday?...or not!

Not necessarily a typical Monday, but a good one! First swimming then golf, then a small unexpected wildfire behind our house! Right now the girls are taking swimming lessons at the local outdoor pool and having a blast doing so!
Sweet Abbie!!!
Teaching the rocket float...
then attempting the rocket float!!!
Next up...As everyone knows, golf is kind of a big sport at our house, and if you like golf Idaho Falls is a great place to live. They have a great Junior golfing program run by the city that cost me $25/kid and they can golf on the 6 hole par 3 course as much as they want and every monday is junior day and they get a free 9 hole round at one of the 3 city courses (they rotate every week). Then at the end of the season they have a big tournament and awards dinner. Its super fun and the kids love it!
We love golf!!!!
On her belly lining up her putting shot...do you think it helps???
Sometimes there's not really any golfing that happens!!!
We had a bit of excitement today, a small (sort of) fire back by the Railroad tracks. I am pretty sure it must've been fireworks, lucky for me my kids had been in the house all afternoon. It was such a windy day that the fire spread pretty quick. My neighbor called 911, but someone else already had. By the time I came in and got my camera the fire was already out darn it!!!
