Parades are fun and Cierra was looking forward to walking in this one, it was longer than she thought to walk those 2 miles!

2013 Girls Camp

I went up to girls camp for Hike day, I didn't end up on Abbie's hike, but she chose to go with the 3rd years instead.  They went up to Caribou Mountain. Great pictures too.

2013 June at Pine Basin

The year between 5th and 6th grades was when the girls could go to Pine Basin and this was Cierra's summer!  She's my baby is it ever going to get easier watching her leave me!?!?  The best part was having great friends to share the experience with. Hailey, Breanna and Alivia all went and enjoyed the time with her.

June 2013 Fun Fun Fun!!!

We made this our summer of biking and hiking!  Last year was caving.

Our first biking adventure was taking our bikes down to the greenbelt riding around, having lunch and riding home.  Much easier of a ride than I initially thought it was going to be.  We biked down 17th, it was busy and a lot of construction, Cierra ended up taking a bad spill down by the Sandwich tree, she about didn't get back on her bike.  We walked it for a bit then she was fine.  We stopped at the Jimmy Johns down by Walmart, rode around the Greenbelt some more then took John Adams home, that street has a fantastic bike lane all the way from Holmes to Hitt.  Then we cut through Walmart's parking lot and we were home.  Great ride. It took us from 10 am to 2 pm and that was stopping for lunch and around the greenbelt a little.

A couple weeks later we took a drive out to Menan to hike the Butte.  The first half mile is pretty steep, but after that its just a nice walk around the rim,  there are a couple of places that you walk over rock so the trail kinda disappears but its easy to find again.  We took Daken with us, which I loved!  Its fun to have a guy around to help out, Abbie took Hailey and Cierra took Sammy with us.  It was a nice day!

 On our walk around the rim they were doing some summer firefighter training, it was pretty cool to see all the guys and gals in full uniform and carrying a tool of some sort or other on their "march".

 A few signs and trail markers along the way.  Daken even found rocks for the girls to push off the edge just to watch it fall.

 Do you like my heart cactus?  Looking up at the climb, they even have post planted so you can pull yourself up if the shale is to slippery. Checking out the valley and the cute Hobbit house in Menan was Cierra's favorite.

Summer 2013 New Patio

There is nothing more time consuming that construction work!  The stairs were falling off the back of the house and the patio slab looked like a volcano so we had them torn out and a new patio poured.  Its nice, real nice and big, now the only things that would make it much more useful is stairs and a cover!

2013 Memorial Day

The girls and I went and spent the weekend in Utah with Gpa and Gma Christensen because Daddy went to Vegas to watch some UFC fights.  On our way home we went through Clarkston to check out the cemetery! We also saw Martin Harris's grave site which means we got a little church history today!

May 2013 Abbie needs Braces!

My cute little brace face!!!  These are the funnest pictures ever to take!!! We love Dr. Hilliam besides being a great orthodontist he loves Wicked as much as we do and its on his playlist at the office!!!  Along with many other favorites!!!

Finishing up 5th Grade

Well they finished up 5th grade strong with a great water day / field day and DARE Graduation.  Mrs. Kidd was and excellent teacher, we love her very much!!!

Gymnastics In House Competition

May 2013 - Cierra decided she wanted to do gymnastics again.  This time though she didn't seem to learn as much as she'd like to have.  One thing about these places, you go in wanting to learn basic tumbling like roundoffs, back walkovers and back handsprings etc.  Then she got stuck with a low class because she didn't want to do competitive.  It doesn't mean she doesn't want to learn though!  Frustrating!!!
