Mid-life Crisis???

We've been married nearly 20 years and in all those years Bill has been dying for a truck. Well we finally bit the bullet and bought one. It's a red 2007 Ford F-150. There are concessions we had to make to put it in the budget we wanted to keep. Bill really wanted a leather interior and lower miles, but ended up with cloth and its at 50,000 miles. The back has a hard flat top cover that lifts on an angle and a hard bed liner, but Bill really wanted the auto roll top and a spray in liner. Maybe eventually we can change that. All in all were pretty happy about the purchase!!!

At the public Library we found a book the was titled the Glamour Girls Guide to being a Goddess or something of that sort its one of those "dangerous guide books". Anyway one of the things to do in it is have your own fashion show. Since Hailey is as much my girl as Abbie and Cierra are I decided to include her in my blog post. Here are Cierra's pictures. Here are Abbie's pictures. Hailey's pictures There were also guides on how to make lip gloss, how to take a proper relaxing bath and make bubble bath, along with how to have a spa party and many other ideas that are sure to make any girl a Goddess!!!

Ice Fishing at Weston Reservoir

Some might say nothing beats a day of fishing, even a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work. I, however am not one of those people, but my husband is. We left Saturday morning, the day after new years day, not as early as we'd have liked because the snowplow left 3 feet of snow in our driveway we had to dig out of, but still left by 9:30. We drove to Weston Reservoir and met Bills parents there and fished with them. I cannot touch a pole since I didn't have a license, mine was more a duty of taking the girls to the bathroom when they needed to go! (reminder to all not to eat the yellow snow!!!) The kids had fun, Bill caught a perch and Jesse caught a large mouth bass, the girls played with the fish laying in the snow, threw snowballs, ate crackers and a PB&J. Coleen and Bruce caught the rest of the fish and sent us home with some, but there really is no need to send home fish with a family that won't eat it! We got home and Bill cleaned and filleted the fish then I fried it up, to be eaten by Bill and Jesse, while the girls tasted it but of course gagged!!! But the day was a nice one and it's always enjoyable to spend time with the family that I love!!! Grandpa McCammon, Abbie and Grandma all watching for fish to take a bite!

This is a short video of Bill singing "Pinball Wizard" on rock band at the New Years Eve party we went to. He'll kill me as soon as I post this, but I think he's awesome so why shouldn't I?!?!

Christmas Eve / Christmas Day

Our Christmas eve party consisted of a lot of finger foods...that we didn't eat most of them. Vegging out watching A Christmas Story! Daddy reading the Grinch Who Stole Christmas, Twas the Night before Christmas and then the Christmas Story from the Bible. Christmas Morning: All the presents left by Santa. Checking out their presents Christmas morning. The girls in their new robes and slippers. And Abbie excited about her new spongebob toothbrush. Cierra with her Christmas Presents. Abbie with hers. And Jesse with his! His favorite is his new i-touch and the Aggies blanket Grandma McCammon quilted for him. My parents came up Christmas day to see what the kids got for Christmas, we watched a few movies, ate popcorn and put together Cierra's new puzzle.
Here's a few pics of the kids getting our tree ready for Christmas! This year we decided to put the tree up in the basement so that we could enjoy Christmas with our fireplace. My thought was to get a smaller or at least skinnier tree for up stairs. I get tired of the tree fairly fast when its in the way, but I didn't ever want to pay the price for a tree for upstairs and I can't say that I really missed it that much. The lights and garland on the banister railing are plenty for me. Putting on the Lights which Bill hates doing because I like a ton of lights and he barely want's to drape them on! The girls looking through their boxes of ornaments. Great Kids with a beautifully decorated tree.

Utah Family Parties

Every year the Saturday before Christmas eve we get together with our families and have our Christmas parties. My parents do a morning brunch and Bill's family does an evening party so it works nice that we can do it all in one day. We start breakfast at my parents house at 10 am and then open presents play and visit. I am so grateful for the great families we've been blessed with. This is Abbie with her cousin Gracie. My sister in law Diane and her 3 girls Darcie, Stacy and Heather and her granddaughter Makaya. This is Grandma giving out her first gift to all the grandkids. An emergency kit for their backpacks. If your over 12 Grandma gives cash. This year it was wrapped under the label of a can of CASH-ew Nuts!!!! Cierra also got a Webkinz from grandma, a can of nuts and a bug vacuum from her cousin. Abbie got a webkinz and can of nuts also and from her cousin she got webkinz clothes. Jesse got golf balls and a golfing tool. At Bill's parents house we have dinner and sing Christmas Carols until Santa comes. Everyone takes turns sitting on Santas lap getting their presents. The grandkids all get Jammies and the adults get a treat. Here's a picture of all the kids with their new Christmas jammies on. What a great looking bunch all thanks to Santa.
