Sunbeam Birthday Party

At church I am the teacher of the 3 going on 4 year olds. We call them SUNBEAMS! And they are just that, bright as the sun, their smiles warm you inside and out and they have such joy about life! I love my calling and I love these kids so much they are so fun to teach. I am a person that gets really big ideas and then they end up a lot smaller the closer we get because I am such a procrastinator. Another of those faults I need to overcome!!! I wanted to do something special for their Birthdays and I didn't have the list at the first of the year and when I got it 2 kids had already had their birthdays. So I decided to have a party in the summer for them to celebrate all their birthdays at once. I had it this past week and lesson learned 4 year olds need more than 5 things in 1 hour to occupy their time!! We had bubbles, then decorated cupcakes, played games and opened presents. I tried to have them do sidewalk chalk on the driveway right at the end but they said it was too hot to be outside. So we came back in and had a drink and finished our cupcakes. I could have used more games though. I think they all had fun. I made the cutest little t-shirts. I tried to base the theme around sunbeam...so I made cupcakes with yellow frosting and they were suppose to decorate them like the sun. And then I made the t-shirt using a sun yellow t-shirt, I put a yellow and orange sun on the front with green words that read I'm a Sunbeam! Cheesy, but I think it turned out pretty cute. Don't they look thrilled to be playing Hullabaloo Posing with our shirts...they don't all look that enthused, all but one ended up putting them on. We were missing a few of our class, and wished they would have been able to be here!!!

Melaleuca Party

I think this is the first year in the 7 that we've been going to the Melaleuca Party that the weather was not blistering. It was a warm day, but one of the first I have been truly grateful for the windiness of Idaho Falls! It made for a right pleasant day!!! It really is a great day, lots for the kids to do; unlimited food, games, cotton candy, sno cones and drinks Better than slappin' the bull it ridin' it!!!!Jesse and Daken on the WHIZZER In the Swing of things!!Doesn't he look thrilled to be there??? These two boys tried so many times to get in the game and finally they made it into the three legged race. They ended up winning which was their goal, both got movie passes and $5 to Coldstone!! The summer picnic is always looked forward to by my clan! Fun times were had by all!!!
