1st day of school!

Is it so bad to be greatful for them to be back at school? I love them so much, but there is something to be said for time away from each other. And I am such a fly by the seat of my pants sort of person and my kids love structure and school gives them that. They feed them everyday at the same time thats way more than they get here! By the end of summer this year my kids seemed more than ready to go back. I've never felt it that much, but this year this kids said summer dragged on forever. Maybe we didn't do enough fun stuff.
Can you believe Jesse is in High School this year. My big 9th grader. He's such a great kid and is already thinking about his grades and how they will affect the rest of his life. He's got his lerners permit too....CRAZY! Abbie is in the 3rd grade this year and her teachers last name is a doozy Mrs. Keahiolalo "kay awe he owe law low" but tells all the kids to call her Mrs. K. She is so excited to be back to she loves her friends and is very social. Cierra is in the 1st grade and has Mrs. Jensen she is so excited and was up dressed and ready for school before I had to say get up twice. I love that too bad it won't last. :-(
School is so fun though and they are excited!

Eagle Project....DONE!

The project...organizing, getting donations and painting the bathrooms at the Eagle Point Park. Jesse has been slowly working on his Eagle Project and we can now stamp a done on the work part. Now its just finishing the paperwork and getting him through the rest. Its amazing how much as a mother I thought about the stupid thing. I just wanted him to get finished before school started so I nagged him a lot...probably too much! The first picture is a before the one under is after the other two are self explanitory.

New do's!

I took the girls to get haircuts on Wednesday. Abbie got hers cut into layers, I think its cute with the perm. And Cierra just wants her hair short so no one will comb it. Is is short enough?

Consequences, sometimes they hurt.

Ok, I should have taken a picture with all the blisters but I didn't. :-( Oh well. I did get this one of Jesse back in the peeling stage. It was nasty! Don't you think he was being a bit of a baby about not wanting to carry a backpack for 5 miles? hmmmmmmm? Its doing a lot better now. Its still a little scaby in a couple spots and still a little itchy. But a lot better!

Fore! Lookout Trophies for everyone!

Jesse and his friend Daken went to the golf banquet at Pinecrest last night for the Junior Golf Association of Idaho Falls and ended up bringing trophies home for everyone! Cierra Placed 3rd in her division, Abbie 6th in hers and Jesse placed 11th in his. Which he also recieved $30 to the pro shop and 1 free lesson at Sage Lakes for points earned this summer. How fun is that! Cierra has been carrying hers around all last night and this morning and would have slept with it if I would have let her. Just a side note: In the picture Jesse is shirtless, not normal around our house, but he got a sunburn at Ross park on Monday and has huge (now ooozing) blisters and clothes stick to him. I think he has learned the meaning of the word "consequence", he couldn't go on his backpacking high adventure for scouts yesterday because he couldn't wear a shirt let alone a backpack!

The Double Tonsillectomy

Ok today was the day, a double tonsillectomy and adnoidectomy. (who knew that was a word?) Actually it went pretty smoothly. Last night we had our good friend a neighbor Russell Taylor come over and help Bill give the two girls a blessing. Abbie said she really wanted it, Cierra told me she wasn't nervous and didn't want one, but when the time came she sat in the chair without a word of complaint. We were at the hospital to check in at 7:15am. That took about 20 min or so then we went upstairs to the day surgery place and the did the blood pressure, temperature, and weigh in thing. Then took us to a room where the girls got changed into their classy hospital wear. (just a note for those that don't know, bring extra undies I didn't and the girls had to go ... well there's not a girl word only, well ... commando! and they weren't too happy!)

(Abbie was so nervous it was non stop talking and question asking, and not just questions but totally irrelevant questions like "where's Mountain View Hospital? (the other hospital in town) and how come we can't see mountain view hospital from our room?".) Then they asked a ton more questions and by 8:45 they came and took Cierra to the pre-op room. She wasn't scared even a little bit, we talked about how she can pick any kind of slushie she wants when she gets done and she wanted a Mountain Dew slurpee, this knowing full well she isn't suppose to drink mountain dew! Crazy Kids! Then when the anesthesiologist came and took her it was a "bye mom!" moment. Then I went and waited in their recovery room. Bill stayed with Abbie and had her to the pre-op by 10min after 9 and was to the recovery room to wait by 9:20. Abbie was very nervous. For the past week she had question after question about what was going to happen. Then they seperate you so fast from them when they wheel them from the pre-op room and send you away its hard to know whats next for them. Abbie made me a little teary though today when she said she was so scared when they made her dad leave and she started to cry for her daddy and couldn't understand why they wouldn't let him stay till she fell asleep.

Cierra came to the recovery room first at about 9:50am. She seemed fine until she saw me and then she started to sob. Ohhhh its so sad to see your baby crying and sobbing saying it hurts. She finally calmed down though and then ate a popscicle. The doctor came in right after Cierra and told us Abbie was finished and it went great. Cierra's tonsils were huge he said and they were close to touching when laying down sleeping. Maybe that will mean she'll get a more peaceful night sleep. Abbie's looked ok and weren't too bad, but we're still glad its done.

Abbie was next to come in she was wide awake and asking more questions. I am sure the nurse brought her back cuz she was tired of listening to her. She was doing great though, completely happy and awake! She ate a popscicle too, both kept them down, so then the nurse came in and took out the I.V.'s in their arms. Then the girls got dressed and we left the hospital around 11:00am with them feeling pretty good. They were prescribed an antibiotic and a pain med just in case. Now we'll see how many popscicles two girls can eat in a day! Notice the eyes, she couldn't take her eyes off the TV long enough to look at the camera. They were watching Nickelodeons Drake and Josh.

ITS DONE AND ITS BEAUTIFUL! Come and see it in person, photos never do anything justice!
These are some of the pictures of our week at Sherwood Hills for the family reunion my folks do for me my brother, sister and our families every year. THANKS MOM AND DAD! The kids swam in the pool till their hair turned to straw, there was golfing, eating, fighting, tennis, geocaching, eating some more, ice skating, shopping, watching movies, playing hide and seek, playing in the elevator. My mother spoils us all with the food she brings. It was just a lot of fun spending time with the people I love most. (although if Bill would have been there it would have been complete) One night for dinner me and the kids went to the McCammons to have dinner and draw names for Christmas, Tuesday Wendy deep fried chicken and french fries on the cache cooker and the last night I made dutch oven potatoes and carrots and cooked a pork loin in the dutch ovens. It was pretty tasty. Our rooms were on ground level to the back courtyard with the sliding glass doors opening out and I wish I would've taken pictures of all the birds in the back. Its like the movie the birds, they were everywhere. We used my awning on the last night just to keep the bird poop off our food not to shade us from the sun. I think at least 2 people got pooped on by those nasty birds.

Ok so here is an "almost finished" picture of our fireplace. The wires for the surround speakers aren't going to be long enough when they get the top put on so Bill has to cut the sheetrock out and pull them up and out through the ceiling. So they weren't able to put the top on yet. OOOHHH is so pretty though! I am very excited to get it all finished. Everyone is invited to come and see it!
