Yellowstone for Memorial Day Weekend

One of our favorite places to visit is Yellowstone, nothing makes Bill and I happier than a great drive through the park! Bill and I have some friends in Logan that had a time share up in West Yellowstone for the weekend and asked if we wanted to come and share..of course we said yes! Who could pass up a free hotel room!!! Thanks to Kris and Jen for inviting us!!!
Bill and I have been married for 18 years, we've been to the park at least that many times, but probably more and last June was the first time we have ever been lucky enough to see a bear! Its been so frustrating to talk to people who've been there once in their life and they've seen at least one but usually more. Saturday we got up and had breakfast and went to the park. We walked the Norris Geyser Basin and went up to Mammoth. Then headed to tower and down to canyon then back to West Yellowstone. We saw of course buffalo and elk, but we also saw a baby black bear in a tree AND a grizzly! It was so exciting! We also wanted to try and swim the firehole, it was closed and taped off, and they said the river was running high and there had been bear activity in the area. We didn't want to be bear stew!!!
See the small black spec right in the center, that's the baby black bear.
Sunday we were going to get up early, but no need we saw our bears!!! So we drove to Old Faithful and stopped at a couple of the walks along the way. Its so nice for our kids to be getting big enough they don't have to be carried when were only half way there! We did the walk around Old Faithful which I have never done before it was awesome! And a great walk!
A small story about Cierra though, her and Bill were walking on one of the boardwalks talking about what they were seeing, they passed by an orange cone and she whapped it and said "goose!" they kept walking, a few steps later she looked back then looked at her dad in all seriousness and said "why isn't it chasing me?" Bill did all he could to keep from laughing and just said I don't know? Anyway I thought it was cute!
Enjoy our picts!

Its a hodge podge of items today!

I can never decide if I have more than one thing to post, if I should put them all in one or save them for different days? So today I thing I will post a couple of things.
First I didn't get very many still pictures of the girls at their gymnatics "tournament". I did get videos, but I think it takes forever to put a video on here so I am not going to bother. If you really want to watch them, ask and I will bring my laptop and show you!
Next, my parents came up last weekend to watch the girls in their gymnastic thingy and while they were here my dad helped Bill put the posts in my ground for my Volleyball net. They dug in the ground about 2 feet and put a PVC pipe in the ground, now I can just slide the volleyball posts nicely into the ground. Nifty Ehhh?
Bill turned the BIG 40 last Wednesday, in the tradition of Birthdays at our house, nothing much happened. We have some really great freinds that brought Bill a nice Mt. Dew layer "cake" for his birthday. I grilled some steak and made a cherry pie and an applesauce pie. They were yummy! Although Bill in his germ a phobic world wasn't feeling well because Abbie had a headache and he worried the rest of the night about her being sick which needless to say makes him sick!
One last quick thing!!! I have bluebirds in my back yard!!! Can someone tell me how to keep them here?????
