Playdough Creations

My girls, especially the big one, have become obsessed with shows like the cake boss.  She's loves watching all the fun things they come up with and hopes someday to be able to be just like them!  Enter Playdough!!  They use rolled fondant all the time on those shows and one day she was begging me to buy her some.  I looked at her and said "no way...why don't you just use play-dough?"  Oh YEAH!!!!  That'll work!!!!  So began an afternoon of creating.  She would love to take a class.  Maybe one of these day's we'll take one together!!!

Activity Days Awards Evening

In October (2010) I was called to serve as an Activity Day's leader for the 8 year old girls at Church. The very first Activity I went to was the award ceremony. It was very cute they had a luau theme and the girls got flowers for their hair and leis. Cierra decided she needed a coconut bra on and since Jesse had made her one for Alivia's birthday this summer she had what she needed! Alivia and Cierra with Morgan and her mom Nicole right behind. Lacey, Abbie, Tristan and Aubrey...such cute girls! It such a great program for these girls and a great time for us as leaders to watch them grow and progress through the program.

She's Eleven Now

HaPpY BiRtHdAy!!!! Love you Ab!!! One more year until make-up and shaving!!!! Yikes!!! That is seriously the things she is looking forward to!! If she only knew! She had a small birthday party with 3 of her friends. Making a wish. And when I was decorating Cierra's cake this year, she informed me she wanted to decorate her own cake! Well that's exactly what she did!! When they were done the frosting on top was about 6 inches thick! The Decor!!! This is the kind of cake that makes one want a very large glass of milk!!!

Volleyball time Again

Volleyball season is always a really fun time for us. I love watching Abbie play! Her team has most of the same girls she played with last year on it and even though its only their second year playing most are 11 or almost 11 so they bumped their team up to the 12U category. The teams that these girls are playing look so much different most look like they are probably 12 already and the teams look like they've played together for quite a while. Our girls still struggle with the overhand serves, but they are improving!! They didn't win any of their matches, but they still managed to get pretty good scores. Abbie got a hold of this ball, but it ended up on the wrong side of the post. Here's her serve, something that she's working on constantly, I wish our house was brick and not sided so she had a nice wall to practice against! The first week she didn't get a single serve over the net and this week she only missed a couple! She was digging in good for these! You'd look like this too..... If you were constantly doing this!!!! Gotta love what the photographer gets sometimes!!!!

A New Paint Job

I finally did it! After 8 hours of taping and 2 of painting the castle walls over 6 years ago I finally gave in and changed these walls. Its not real easy to see but this is the only picture I can find that has any evidence of the hard work I put into the paint job in this room. Imagine this on all 4 walls! I am sure I have better pictures somewhere I just can't seem to find any so this will have to do for now. I think it turned out really pretty cute, it gives the room more of a tween look instead of a little girls room, and the girls seem to like it. They were definately ready for the change. I wish it was easier to get a picture of these rooms!

All About Abbie!!!!

Abbie got something new this week...Glasses! I think she's pretty cute in them and she seems a lot happier to get them than I ever was! But man oh man are they expensive!!! Abbie and her little friend doing the talent show at school. Its a really cute dance to an oldies song. Her friends older sister taught them the dance and I think it turned out darling.

Crazy Hair Day

Besides the fact that my girls hate having thier hair done...well I hate doing it! Ever since they were small they would just scream and grab their heads when they see you coming at them with a comb or brush. Trying to comb hair with hands in the way is kind of tough, so needless to say we don't "do" hair very often. For crazy hair day this is what Abbie wanted. The ponies all over her head turned out cuter than crazier...and so did Cierra's.

Cierra decided she wanted a mohawk, I wasn't sure how to do that so I ponytailed her hair in chunks and then we ratted it up. Her hair was ratted and sprayed and by the time she got home it looked combed. Did the 80's do nothing for me? I can't even rat hair and get it to stay up all day! Matbe we should have put colors on it, or maybe they are just so cute, nothing I can do will make them look crazy!!! ;-)

Abbie's Christmas Show at School!

I love the new music teacher at Abbie's school I think he's awesome, his name is Mr. Simon. He was just married this year and his new wife helped out by playing the piano and she even sung us a song. This year their christmas performance was outstanding. All the kids were asked to wear a white shirt and black (or dark) pants. This kids were all very animated and looked like they were really enjoying themselves. One thing I hate about my camera is that in low light the pictures are absoultely horrible! They are dark and most of the time very blurry. I don't know if I need an SLR to fix it, take my tripod with me, or what cuz the lighting in the school gym gives me horrible pictures every time.

Sisters!

I love to watch Abbie and Cierra when they are getting along. These two have a love/hate relationship (like most sisters I imagine). This was Wednesday morning they were happy to be having Thanksgiving break, cuddling together watching Jesse play Tiger Woods golf on the Wii. Within the hour though they were yelling and screaming at each other. Go figure!

I don't really remember fighting with my sister. I was the youngest and 6 years younger than her, and besides being underfoot or tagging along when she didn't want me too, I don't really remember fighting that much. Because when we were younger we weren't close, I was glad to have a best friend next door who was just like a sister to me, only with a best friend there is less fighting! I wouldn't say my sister and I are super close. There are some sisters that speak to each other almost everyday, and call just to talk. We probably talk only once a month (if that!). We're not a real daily chatty family, but when we do talk its for hours. We're not a lot alike either she's a clean freak and I clean to get by and so nobody pukes when they come to my house. (seriously her favorite store in the world is Don Aslet, she can't wait for the magazine to come so she can dream and drool!) And she's a Born Organized person, and I am scatterbrained. She's always on the go...can't sit down, and I like to relax and have seat! She's a great friend and a great person and I love her very much and look up to the example that she sets for me.

I hope Cierra and Abbie will always have a great relationship with each other, and can always be there for each other. You know it's true what they say...friends come and go, but Families are Forever!

Fetish or Obsession?

I have a fetish of sorts...well maybe not fetish maybe more of an obsession. I try as often as I can to take pictures of the present that I can compare with the past. When Jesse was about 2 I have a picture of him and one of Bill when he was two, they are identical. When I showed them to my mom she asked me where that picture of Jesse was taken? (it was Bill) I scraped it and now I think that's what started it. Then when Abbie came along my mom found a little red outfit that I had my picture taken in so...I put Abbie in that dress and now those two pictures are scrapbooked as comparison. The post I am putting today is another comparison picture that I love. I had this little outfit when I was about 2, my mom took the picture of me with my dad on his birthday, July 4th, 1973, so when she found the outfit I had to take a picture of her in it with my dad on his birthday July 4th, 2001. Silly I know, but its so fun to make a comparison!
