My Babies big Adventure!!!

My youngest had a big adventure last weekend. Her friend asked her to go with their family and spend the weekend at their cabin. Which for my older two kids probably would have been a no brainer for me to say yes. I have such fond memories of taking my best friend camping with us for weeks at a time when I was younger. It always seemed much funner when I was able to take a friend. But Cierra is my baby, and she's only 6 (even though thats probably how old Kami was when she went with me the first time!). So Bill and I talked it over, and I thought about it at the temple and I felt good about her going. So we told her yes. She is such a homebody though, and I did worry about her getting homesick. Nicole did a great job at keeping her busy and I only know of one occasion that she had a breakdown and was having a tough time. Bill was ready to go get her, but I am glad we didn't. She had such a fun time and told me that know she's slept overnight there its part her cabin now too! Cierra's grandma gave her a camera for her Birthday last year and she took it with her. I told her to take pictures of everything so that I could see what she did. Here are a few of her 200+ pictures. Oh to see life from the perspective of a child.
The stairs up to the loft.
The ceiling if your laying on the stairs taking a picture up!
Turning the camera on herself and taking a picture of her on the stairs.
This is where they ate.
They took water.
This is the bunk beds where she and her friend slept.
This is the cool carpet squares on the floor.

Oh, it looks as if she had a lot of fun. It's hard when you know they are growing up, that they are no longer the helpless baby you brought home. I'm dreading the time when Alex asks if he can stay over with a friend. I don't think I'm ready for that myslef. But sometimes the kids just have to let the parents grow up, huh.

Oh Tammie! I know just how that feels. It's tough letting the kids grow up sometimes. But looks like she had a great time and she'll always have those memories!

My kids love to take pictures and it's always interesting what they deem interesting enough to snap. Glad she made it!

Wow! That is great that you would let her go. I need to work on that. I can barely bring myself to let Kayt go to girls’ camp this summer.

LOVED the pictures!! That was very entertaining looking at the water jug. Just what my kids would have snapped.

Oh ya, I loved how Bill was ready to go and get her. What a great dad.

Love the pictures, especially the water jug. Is that how it is with the baby?

I just want her to stay my baby forever I guess. One day I had her sitting on the counter, and I was giving her a hug and I told her I didn't want her to get big. She started to cry and told me she can't help it, but she promises to visit every day!

How fun. We went up to a cabin a few years ago that looks a lot like this one.
my kids love going up to my uncles cabin, but it has been years.
And my baby can not grow up. At all. And yet in a couple of years I am pretty sure he will be taller than me.

The budding photographer I see! Thank heavens for digital - that would have cost a fortune in the "olden days" when we were kids.
